This week, a powerful wave of change swept across Newala DC as over 1,500 secondary school students participated in peace-building awareness sessions — all led by the passionate and dedicated Youth Community Organizers (YCOs) under the One Stop Center Project.
These sessions, held in the wards of Mchemo, Kitangali, and Chihangu, are part of a broader peace-building initiative implemented by VOYOHEDE through the Kujenga Amani Program, proudly funded by CEFA Tanzania.
But this is more than just a week of activity — this is a movement.
Trained by VOYOHEDE, these community youth peace champions are not only delivering awareness sessions — they're planting seeds of lasting impact. They’ve come together to form JUKWAA LA VIJANA NEWALA DC, a district-level youth platform dedicated to:
Promoting peace education in schools and communities
Advocating for youth economic empowerment and leadership
Mobilizing fellow young people to champion positive change
Their work is not just transforming schools — it’s energizing a generation. These young leaders are ensuring the multiplying effect and sustainability of the One Stop Center Project by owning the mission and driving it forward with creativity, unity, and unwavering passion.
Peace is not just a dream — it’s being built, day by day, by the youth of Newala DC. And with leaders like the YCOs lighting the way, the future looks brighter than ever.
