VOHOHEDE has conducted a One stop center services mobile clinic in Newala DC whereby 386 community members from Chihangu, Mchemo and Kitangali has benefited.
A notable success story was documented in Kitangali Ward, where a Violence Against Children (VAC) case with severe burn over 5% body surface area, was reported to the police during the One Stop Center (OSC) activity. The police gender desk officer recognized the case, which involved a child who had reportedly been burned by his own father in Tandahimba. The case had previously been delayed for over two months due to the absence of key evidence. Following the OSC intervention, the police gender desk officer revisited the case, recalled the earlier investigation, and initiated follow-up actions to ensure that the previously stalled case was reopened and progressed. Due to confidentiality requirements, further details of this case have been withheld.
Another success involved a family conflict case concerning a woman and her daughters, who had been in prolonged disagreement. The woman presented her case during the One Stop Center services at the police gender desk. She was advised to invite her daughters to attend further consultation at the OSC. They all attended on the same day, and through facilitated dialogue and counseling, the family conflict was successfully resolved.
